half my dms now are the same question: how do you make 3d models for your games with opus 5.5
i tried 10+ ways in my last 7 games. a few of them:
one concept sheet in, the 3d model cost $0.60
here's the workflow:
- step 1: concept sheet with front, both sides and back on a plain background. the line in the prompt that matters most: "EMPTY HANDS (no lantern, no oar, nothing attached)"
- step 2: opus cuts the sheet into 4 clean views with a few lines of code
- step 3: each view goes into its own tripo slot (front, left, back, right), face limit 40k. done in under 3 min
- step 4: opus opens the model in blender, scales her to 1.15 m and reads the joints off a front and side grid render
- step 5: rig with 24 bones, the cape gets 2 bones of its own below the hips
- step 6: cloth rules: the scarf follows the chest and the arms never pull the torso
- step 7: animations written in code: idle, walk, run, look back, puddle hop
- step 8: in unity the rowing clip runs on the boat's stroke and her hands stay locked on the oar handles
get the 3 views right before anything else. with front only tripo guesses the back, my cat got a second tail
should i post a full article on how i make game ready 3d models for under $1 with the prompts and the code?
