A ball of yarn unravels and, stitch by stitch, knits itself into a whole cozy island, every texture looking like real wool and knitwear down to the individual loops.

Per the creator, every stitch is generated in code, with no image textures, and it was made with Claude Opus 5.5 and threejs. There is also a playable version called Yarn World.

Why it matters: procedural materials this detailed used to take specialist artists and heavy tools. When a whole handmade-looking world can be generated from code in a browser, creative 3D becomes something many more people can build.
