Hidden Door 发布 MCP Server 支持 AI Agent 构建游戏世界
Introducing the Hidden Door MCP Server
Hidden Door 将叙事世界构建能力开放为 MCP Server,允许 AI Agent 直接创建和修改游戏世界。
Today we're announcing Hidden Door's MCP server, which allows the agents you already use to directly create, import, explore, and change worlds.
All experiences at Hidden Door run on our narrative world model: a rich representation of a world, its characters and places, and its tropes and stories. Creators have been building worlds in Atlas Studio for some time, and we’re now exposing that same set of tools and capabilities over MCP (Model Context Protocol). Our MCP server extends and complements what you can already do in the editor, and gives creators a bunch of new superpowers.
What you can do with it
- Create. Start from a simple idea, such as "a haunted railway." Iterate on it with your agent, see a preview, and when you approve it, we build the draft.
- Adapt. Bring in existing writing, from a page of setting notes to a full manuscript in plain text, and see it come to life in Hidden Door with its characters, locations, and items.
- Explore. Ask questions of a world, take a guided tour, or find out what a particular dial in Atlas does. Atlas exposes a lot of control, and an agent can take the intimidation out of it.
- Adjust. Tweak the tone here, update a character there, set a custom portrait, or ask for something much bigger.
That last one is where it gets fun. Ask for a large thematic change, and the system works out which specific details need to follow, shows you the plan, and saves it once you agree. Maybe you want Pride and Prejudice cast as a modern rom com? Maybe your own cosy cute animal world should actually be an epic fantasy? Some things just need to be more metal.
Your agent can also carry a world out of Hidden Door, or bring something in. Turn a storyline into a script. Turn a comic strip into a storyline. We'll show both below.
A few things worth knowing: The MCP works on drafts: your agent saves them to your Hidden Door account, and it does not publish worlds or start games. Playing and sharing happen in Atlas Studio. Deletion asks for your approval first. Under the hood, your agent will be using a curated set of skills to interact with our tools, so you describe what you want and it works the controls.
Seeing it in action
I wanted to spend some time in the sequestered glen of Sleepy Hollow. The book is public domain, so I downloaded a plaintext copy from the marvelous Project Gutenberg and asked my agent to import it to Hidden Door.
It automatically extracted all the expected locations, themes, and storylines. Characters were created and given initial art from our avatar library. Here's Old Baltus Van Tassel:
I was going for a different vibe, so I had my agent find something in a more fitting style and replace the avatar. This Edwin Austin Abbey portrait of Ichabod Crane, from Wikimedia Commons, was just right.
Playing in Sleepy Hollow is fun, but the story is well known, so I wanted to add something new. I'm no artist, but this 1952 comic strip from Adventures Into Darkness, Romance of Death, was perfect inspiration for a new story in this world. I had a short conversation with the agent about what to take from it and who the player could be (alas, poor Mary), I added some details, and we turned it into a horror mystery storyline.

Notice how the story has been situated in the world. John is now the Dutch Jan. The Tappan Zee shore is already a canon location in our world, a few miles from Sleepy Hollow. The storyline follows the beats of the comic, but lets the player survive, depending on how their story goes. You can inspect and edit all of it.
That is one way in. The other way is out. Now that I have my world, I can now play it on hiddendoor.co, and my agent can hand it to anything else it can reach. We've recently been having fun adapting worlds into screenplays for vertical drama and graphic novel formats!
Get started
You'll need a Hidden Door account on a Creator plan. The first time your agent connects, you will be asked to sign in to Hidden Door in your browser. Your agent sends your writing and requested edits to Hidden Door, and drafts are saved to your account.
Our plugin installs both the MCP connection and the skills that guide your agent.
- Claude Code: run
claude plugin marketplace add HiddenDoor/plugins, thenclaude plugin install hiddendoor. Start a new session, or run/reload-plugins, and sign in to Hidden Door when prompted. - Codex: run
codex plugin marketplace add hiddendoor/plugins, thencodex plugin add hiddendoor@hiddendoor. - Another agent: connect it to the MCP server at
https://www.hiddendoor.co/mcp. Setup instructions are at hiddendoor.co/mcp, and the skills are in the GitHub repo.
Let us know what you think
As we launch the Hidden Door MCP server in beta, we’re looking for your feedback! Try imagining a world from scratch, or importing your favorite work that you've the rights to use. Get weird with it, adapt it to a new genre, add a heist, add zombies, etc. We can’t wait to hear what you think.
