AI writes game code in minutes.
Then a human plays the same level 200 times to see if it broke.
Aura just open-sourced Autopilot, an agent for that second part.
You give it a task in plain English, like "check that every door still opens", and it plays the game itself. Unity, Unreal or Godot. You don't have to tell it what to look for. If something breaks, it writes it up with evidence.
In the clip it was only told to explore. It found an elevator that goes up and never comes back down, logged it, and handed the fix to Claude Code.
My take: the slow part of AI game dev was never the code. It was someone having to replay the build. Open-sourcing this is the right call, since studios can run it with their own models on their own servers.
One honest caveat: for now it runs inside the engine editor, not on shipped builds.
