Capcom published its financial results for the six months ended September 30, 2026, and reported increases across the board, including a 67.5% rise in ordinary profit to ¥61.2 billion ($387.2 million).

These results were primarily driven by the Digital Contents business, which encompasses games, generating net sales of ¥85.1 billion ($538.4 million), up 70.8% year on year. Operating profit rose 66.7% to ¥52.3 billion ($330.9 million).

Total unit sales reached 36.86 million, up from 23.85 million sold during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The numbers

For the six months ended September 30, 2026:

  • Net sales: ¥120.8 billion ($764.2 million), up 49% year-on-year
  • Operating profit: ¥60.7 billion ($384 million), up 54.5% year-on-year
  • Ordinary profit: ¥61.2 billion ($387.2 million), up 67.5% year-on-year
  • Net income: ¥43 billion ($272 million), up 56.6% year-on-year

The highlights

Major franchises such as Resident Evil, Pragmata, Monster Hunter, and Onimusha drove sales during the period.

Resident Evil Requiem "continued to grow in popularity" after its February launch, surpassing eight million units. Revenue was further supported by "ongoing growth" in sales of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2.

Capcom's newest franchise, Pragmata, has sold over 2.7 million units since its April release, while Onimusha: Way of the Sword has surpassed 1.7 million since its September 4 launch. Cumulative sales of the Onimusha series have reached 11 million.

Sales of previous Monster Hunter titles increased following Capcom's announcement of the release window for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, an expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, and confirmation that both titles will be available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Devil May Cry 5 has sold 14 million units since its 2019 release, which Capcom attributes to its Switch 2 rollout and pricing strategies aligned with the Netflix series.

Street Fighter sales reached 32.18 million units, up from 22.85 million in the same period last year.

Capcom stated it is continuing its "efforts to bolster coordination between its games and esports activities in pursuit of wider brand recognition and an expanded user base."
